WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event #1

May 11th 1985

From The Nassau County Coliseum in Nassau County, New York



Cyndi Lauper & Wendi Richter are standing by, with Lauper firing Richter up for her WWE Women’s Title match against The Fabulous Moolah.
 WWE Champion Hulk Hogan & Mr. T are standing by, with Hogan saying Mr. T will be in his corner for his WWE Title defense against “Cowboy” Bob Orton, with T commenting on taking out “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.

Vince McMahon hosts the show and hypes the crowd, before introducing Jesse “The Body” Ventura as his commentary partner.

1)      Six Man Tag match: George “The Animal” Steele & WWE Tag Team Champions The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff w/”Classy” Freddie Blassie vs The All-American Trio (Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Mike Rotunda & Barry Windham) w/Captain Lou Albano
“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Steamboat, Rotunda, Windham & Albano before the match.
  Winners: All-Americans after Steele went crazy and when he went to tag out, both of his partners dropped to the floor, allowing Windham to use an O’Connor Roll for the 3 count.
Steele goes mad, leading to Volkoff & Sheik attacking him, but he fights back and clears house!

Piper’s Pit with “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, “Cowboy” Bob Orton & “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff, with their first meeting since Wrestlemania. Piper provokes Orndorff, who tries to leave, but Roddy attacks, only for Paul to fight both Piper & Orton off and pull Piper in for a Piledriver, only for Orton to drop him with a Northern CAST Lariat. They start double teaming Orndorff, until Mr. T runs out for the save.

2)      WWE Championship match: Hulk Hogan© w/Mr. T vs “Cowboy” Bob Orton w/”Rowdy” Roddy Piper
Winner by Disqualification: Hogan after scoring with The Leg Drop, but as he went to pin, Piper punched him, causing the Referee to throw the match out.
Piper & Orton get the best of Hogan & T, until Paul Orndorff runs out and joins their side, causing Piper & Orton to bail.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews The Fabulous Moolah, who says she is going to have Cyndi Lauper banned from ringside. Okerlund then interviews Wendi Richter & Lauper, Cyndi says she is sticking by her girl.

3)      WWE Women’s Championship match: Wendi Richter© vs The Fabulous Moolah
Moolah hands Howard Finkel paperwork and he announces that Cyndi Lauper must return to the back!
 Winner and STILL Women’s Champion: Richter after Moolah put the boots to her and went for a Body Slam, only for Richter to counter into a Small Package for the 3 count. Lauper runs down and celebrates with Richter.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews The Junkyard Dog, with his momma “Bertha” about giving her a Mother’s Day present.

4)      The Junkyard Dog vs “The Duke of Dorcester” Pete Doherty
Winner: JYD after nailing Pete with 3 hard Headbutts and following with an Atomic Drop, JYD then used a Turning Powerslam to pick up the 3 count.
JYD brings Bertha into the ring to dance.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund is in the back, at “Cyndi’s Mother’s Day Dance Party” with The Junkyard Dog, Bertha, WWE Tag Team Champions The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff, “Classy” Freddie Blassie kissing on his “Mother Laura.” Captain Lou Albano recites a poem, as Hulk & Ruth Hogan are dancing, Cyndi, Wendi Richter & Mother Capri, The Fabulous Moolah crashes the party and argues with Lauper’s mom. Richter pushes Moolah into the cake, also knocking down Gene!

Vince McMahon & Jesse Ventura put a bow on the great evening.

October 5th 1985

From The Meadowlands Arena in New Jersey


“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Nikolai Volkoff and “Classy” Freddie Blassie about Nikolai facing WWE Champion Hulk Hogan for the Title.

WWE Champion Hulk Hogan cuts a pro-USA promo on facing Volkoff.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Hillbilly Jim & Uncle Elmer about Elmer’s wedding, until “Rowdy” Roddy Piper interrupts and insults both.

Vince McMahon & Jesse “The Body” Ventura on commentary and hype duty.

1)      WWE Championship match: Hulk Hogan© vs Nikolai Volkoff w/”Classy” Freddie Blassie
After Volkoff sang the Russian National Anthem, “Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Hoga, who vows to defend the honor of this great country!
 Volkoff attacks before the bell.
  Winner and STILL WWE Champion: Hogan after Volkoff reversed an Irish Whip into the corner and charged in, only for Hogan to move and after Nikolai crashed into the buckles and hit the mat, Hulk scored with The Leg Drop and covered for the 3 count!
Hogan spit on the Russian Flag and cleans his boots with it! “Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Hogan, who talks about the USA and attending Uncle Elmer’s wedding! There is a sneak peak of the bride to be!

“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Hillbilly Jim, Uncle Elmer & Cousin Junior.

2)      “Gentleman” Jerry Valiant vs Uncle Elmer w/Hillbilly Jim & Cousin Junior
Winner: Elmer immediately slammed Valiant and pinned. *NEW RECORD* 6 Seconds
Footage of the old record, King Kong Bundy vs SD Jones at Wrestlemania I. “Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Elmer, Jim & Junior.

Jesse “The Body” Ventura hosts “The Body Shop” with guest Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. Brain talks about Paul Orndorff firing him and then putting a bounty on Paul’s head. Brain ups the amount to 50 thousand and hypes Orndorff vs Roddy Piper.
 “Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Paul Orndorff about his feud with Bobby Heenan.

3)      “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Ordorff vs “Rowdy” Roddy Piper
“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Piper about the $50,000 bounty, saying Heenan better pay. Heenan is shown at ringside prior to the start of the match!
  Match was ruled a Double Countout after Orndorff connected with a Running Cross Body, taking both men over the top and to the floor, where they brawled all around ringside and to the back, where Piper locked himself in a room.

Uncle Elmer’s wedding, with “Mean” Gene Okerlund playing the piano, Hillbilly Jim, Cousin Junior, Andre The Giant & Hulk Hogan are amongst the guests. Roddy Piper comes down to protest, only for Hogan to stare him down. In the reception area there are pigs running wild on straw.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Bobby Heenan, King Kong Bundy & Big John Studd.

4)      Andre The Giant & Tony Atlas vs Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan
Footage from Canada of Studd & Bundy beating down Andre.
 Winners by Disqualification: Andre & Atlas after Tony was taken out of the ring, allowing Studd & Kong to go after Andre in the corner, leading to the Referee throwing the match out.
Studd & Bundy continued the attack, until Hulk Hogan ran down to fight them off.
 “Mean” Gene Okerlund gets in the ring to talk with Hogan, Andre & Atlas.

“Jungle” Gene Okerlund is in the “field” looking for George “The Animal” Steele at Detroit Zoological Park. Classic skit, shock therapy on Steele, comical take on Zoo Tour.

5)      WWE Tag Team Championship match: The Dream Team (Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake & Greg “The Hammer” Valentine)© w/”Luscious” Johnny Valiant vs “Leaping” Lanny Poffo & Tony Garea
“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews the champions before, referencing their feud with Barry Windham & Mike Rotundo. Windham (w/eye patch) & Rotundo are shown sitting at ringside.
  Winners and STILL WWE Tag Team Champions: Dream Team when Greg forced Garea to submit while in The Figure Four.

Footage from Uncle Elmer’s reception is shown. Vince McMahon sits with Jesse Ventura, Hulk Hogan & Paul Orndorff. Captain Lou Albano is eating with Cousin Junior. Lanny Poffo lays out some elegant words for the newly weds. Tiny Tim is brought in as the Special Guest. Ventura tries to spoil, only for Orndorff & Hogan to push him into the cake.

 Hogan & Andre vs Bundy & Studd is signed, Hogan cuts a promo!

Saturday Night’s Main Event Episode #3

November 2nd 1985

From Hershey, Pennsylvania


The show opens with “Mean” Gene Okerlund talking to Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, dressed as Davey Crockett and practicing for Dunkin’ for Pumpinks contest. They discuss Hulk Hogan & Andre The Giant vs Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy. Hulk Hogan cuts a promo.

 Jesse “The Body” Ventura interviews “Rowdy” Roddy Piper about his feud with Uncle Elmer.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Terry Funk & “The Mouth of The South” Jimmy Hart, with Funk talking about his showcase match against The Junkyard Dog.

Vince McMahon & Jesse Ventura are on commentary duty and hypes the show.

1)      Terry Funk w/”The Mouth of The South” Jimmy Hart vs The Junkyard Dog
Winner: Funk after JYD had him in a Sleeper Hold, only for Hart to get on the apron and cause a scene, leading to JYD releasing the hold and grabbing Hart, who dropped his megaphone and as the Referee was separating JYD from Hart, Funk grabbed the megaphone and knocked out JYD, following with the pin.
Funk tried to brand JYD, only for JYD to fight him off and then brand Hart!

“Mean” Gene Okerlund, surrounded by WWE superstars, hosts the Pie Eating contest between King Kong Bundy, dressed as Abe Lincoln and Captain Lou Albano, dressed as Julius Caesar. Albano is the winner and Bundy gets upset.

Uncle Elmer, Cousin Junior & Hillbilly Jim are in the ring, waiting for “Rowdy” Roddy Piper to host “Piper’s Pit.” Piper & “Cowboy” Bob Orton get in the ring and Piper mocks the 3 men, starts asking inappropriate questions to Elmer, who refuses to answer and is getting angry. Jim gets in Piper’s face, only for Roddy to throw Jesse Ventura under the bus, blaming him for the remarks to Elmer, which brings Ventura into the ring. They pull a quick on Junior and the 3 cousins back Ventura into the corner, only for Piper & Orton to make the save.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund hosts a Pumpkin Dunk competition between Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and Cousin Junior, with “Macho Man” Randy Savage & Miss Elizabeth holding the bag for Heenan and The Junkyard Dog & Tito Santana holding the bag for Junior. Heenan is declared the winner.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Bobby Heenan, Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy about Studd & Bundy vs Hulk Hogan & Andre The Giant. Okerlund then interviews Captain Lou Albano, Hogan & Andre.

2)      WWE Champion Hulk Hogan & “The 9th Wonder of The World” Andre The Giant w/Captain Lou Albano vs Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan
Winners by Disqualification: Andre & Hogan after Andre became entangled in the ropes, setting him on the apron, where Studd and Bundy punched and kicked away, until the Referee counted them down and eventually threw the match out.
Studd & Bundy continued the attack, until Hogan made the save and with Andre, fought them to the back. “Mean” Gene Okerlund gets in the ring and interviews Hogan & Andre, who talk about not having enough of their foes and unify with handshakes.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews “Macho Man” Randy Savage & Miss Elizabeth about Savage’s upcoming WWE Intercontinental Title match against Tito Santana.

3)      WWE Intercontinental Championship match: Tito Santana© vs “Macho Man” Randy Savage w/Miss Elizabeth
Match Ruled a Double Count Out after Savage attempted to run away from Tito, sliding in and out of the ring, to multiple sides, before stopping in the ring and knocking Tito back to the floor with a punch, allowing him to follow up and hook for a Piledriver on the mats, but Tito was able to escape, just as the Referee got to the 10 count and called for the bell.

Mr. Fuji is shown preparing for his Kung Fu Challenge. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat is then highlighted in preparation, breaking a series of boards.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund is standing in the back, as WWE superstars practice for the Pumpkin Pass contest and introduces a video package of Roddy Piper’s Halloween celebration, with Vince McMahon reporting from his house.
 Vince interviews Hulk Hogan, dressed as Spartacus, who cuts a promo on Piper being outsmarted by children.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund tries to interview Mr. Fuji, as he breaks bricks in preparation for the Kung Fu Challenge.

4)      Kung Fu Challenge: Mr. Fuji w/”The Magnificent” Don Muraco vs Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat
“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviews Steamboat before the match, showing footage of Muraco & Fuji attacking and hanging Steamboat and hyping the match.
 Winner: Steamboat after chopping and kicking Fuji down to his knees, only for Fuji to fight back and drop Steamboat, before using stabbing finger strikes and then jamming fingers into Ricky’s throat and tossing him across the ring. Fuji pulled Steamboat up and went back to punishing him, before using a Rolling Solebutt to set up for a Vertical Suplex, only for Steamboat to overpower Fuji and plant him with his own Vertical Suplex. Ricky pulled himself up and climbed to the top, waiting for Fuji to get up, before flying off with a Side Kick and then covering for the 3.
Muraco immediately entered the ring blew the Poison Mist into Ricky’s eyes, following with a vicious double team beat down by Fuji & Don.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund is standing with Miss Elizabeth, showing an example of the Pumpkin Pass.

Vince McMahon & Jesse “The Body” Ventura are standing in the back, with Captain Lou Albano’s team and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan’s team on opposite sides, tide at 1 Halloween contest a piece, prepared for the Pumpkin Pass. Albano’s team is victorious when Elizabeth drops the apple, Savage yells at her.



Vince McMahon, “Mean” Gene Okerlund & Jesse “The Body” Ventura put a bow on it, with Ventura challenging Elmer & Jim to face himself & Roddy Piper!
